John Brailsford the elder (fl. 1712-1739), was an English poet. He was the son of John Brailsford, a pewterer. He was educated at Merchant Taylors' School and St. John's College, Cambridge (B.A. 1712, M.A. 1717), and, after acting as curate at Blaston in Leicestershire, became rector of Kirkby in Nottinghamshire.
